STEP 1: Fill in a nickname in the "Nickname" box and then click on "Login". If you do not have Java installed you will be presented with a screen like below. You must install Java to use the chat client. You can install Java from here.

STEP 2: You must click on "Run" and not "Cancel" when presented with the digital signature box.

If you click on Cancel you will be presented with the screen below:

If you click on "Run" you may also be presented with a message from your Windows Firewall asking you whether to block or unblock the connection. I do not believe it matters what you select, but it makes sense to click "Unblock". Once you the chat client has loaded you will be presented with the following screen:

This is working successfully. You can type a message by typing in the box with the flashing cursor and pressing enter to input your message. The people that are currently in the room are display down the right hand side in the nickname list.
